Washington, DC - - The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) has named Susan Sarfati,
CAE (Certified Association Executives), the new Interim Executive Director of the Foundation. Ms. Sarfati will fill, on an interim basis, the position formerly held by Leo Schargorodski, who recently resigned.
Ms. Sarfati is President of her own speaking and consulting firm focusing on all aspects of organizational strategy. She has served as a key leader in the association and foundation community since 1980. Most recently, she was the founding President & CEO of The Center for Association Leadership and Executive Vice President of The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
“I am pleased to serve NOF as Interim Executive Director and to work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees and staff in moving the mission of this vital Foundation forward,” said Sarfati. “I look forward to bringing the experience and expertise from over 25 plus years of leadership in the nonprofit community to the work of NOF and its constituents. NOF is currently celebrating 25 years of service dedicated to making bone health a reality and a lifelong priority for all individuals. We have critical work to do in supporting the vision.”
“The Board of Trustees is pleased to have Ms. Sarfati on board during this critical time,” said NOF Chairman the Honorable Daniel A. Mica. "We thank Mr. Schargorodski for his service and wish him well in the future.” A search is currently underway to select a permanent Executive Director and CEO.
